The Colors of Our Island brings together the voices and artistic perspectives of Puerto Rican artists living in Indiana.
Presented by the ¡WEPArt! Colectivo, this multidisciplinary exhibition celebrates the launch of the first nonstop flight (Southwest Airlines) between Indiana (IND) and Puerto Rico (SJU).
Through painting, photography, sculpture, textile arts, mixed media, and contemporary design, the exhibition explores themes of memory, identity, resilience, landscape, and cultural tradition from the perspective of the Puerto Rican diaspora.
The ¡WEPArt! Colectivo is a multidisciplinary collective of Puerto Rican artists based in Indiana dedicated to celebrating, preserving, and sharing Puerto Rican culture through artistic expression, cultural exchange, and community connection.
