We're Proud to Present a Small Sampling of our Culturally-Inspired Wall Sculptures:
In these works (ranging in size from 6"x6" to over 3' wide), Sosa is trying to create and deliver a more contemporary, cultural approach to wall decór suitable for today’s more sophisticated multi-cultural audience. The use of materials in this body of work is also mixed unusually— paper, wood, mirrors, plastic or acrylic--hand-painted to express uncommon textures, patterns and color combinations. Many of the textures and colors applied to this work are a direct result of Carlos’ interaction with urban art from his childhood in NYC. His mission is to help a viewer reflect the many layers of tradition, and the emotional price it sometimes costs to maintain those traditions.
My work is constantly evolving—I enjoy expressing various cultures from indigenous pre-Columbian tribal symbols, to unique expressions of language, to unique textures in surface treatments. Please check back again and again to see what I'm up to these days!
